Baseball gets three on 30-player All-MIAC team

St. Thomas Baseball had three players -- pitchers Henry DeCaster and Graham Laubcher, and infielder Dan Bollingberg -- named to the 2019 All-MIAC team announced Tuesday.

Thirty players from 11 schools were honored as All-MIAC.

Tommie pitcher Andrew Tri was among 10 named to the All-Defensive Team.

St. Thomas, 20-17 overall, lost four MIAC games by one run and placed fifth of 11 teams with a 11-9 conference finish.


Henry DeCaster, Senior, LHP

The Mounds View High graduate shutout conference champion teams UW-Whitewater and Gustavus, and also beat 34-9 NCAA playoff qualifier Aurora... Conference Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore in 2017... Career: 16-10, 2.58 ERA, 221 strikeouts in 195 innings (48 walks)... 8-to-1 K-to-walk ratio this season, near 5-to-1 on career.


Dan Bollingberg, Junior, Inf., 

The Austin, Minn., native and a first-year starter had an 8-for-8 day at the plate in doubleheader sweep of Augsburg on May 4... had 10 multi-hit games... was 13-of-14 in steal attempts... had one seven-game hitting streak... had 40 hits, 26 runs, 19 RBI and 14 walks in all 37 games... team was 10-3 in games when he drove in a run.


Graham Laubscher, Sophomore, LHP

The Stillwater native had his collegiate-best 13 strikeouts in a seven-inning win over Augsburg... he posted a 3-4 record with a 3.09 ERA and 67 strikeouts and 19 walks in 58.1 innings on the season... Career: 5-6 with 2.96 ERA and 101 strikeouts and 31 walks in 91 innings.


Andrew Tri, Sophomore, RHP

In 14 appearances this season had no errors on eight fielding plays... posted 3-3 record with two saves and 5.45 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 34.2 innings.
