No. 15-ranked St. Thomas Men's Basketball shot just 26 percent from the field in Saturday night's 85-64 road loss to unbeaten Whitworth.

The Pirates (4-0) shot 57 percent and raced to a 36-21 halftime lead.

The Toms made only 4-of-28 from 3-point range and were outrebounded 44-32. They sank 28-of-33 at the foul line but couldn't offset the cold shooting frm the floor.

Sophomore guard Anders Nelson had 25 points and six boards to lead the Purple.

St. Thomas plays Wednesday at St. Scholastica, then has a pair of games at the University of Chicago next weekend, including a Saturday game against No. 1-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan.
