Men's Soccer gets three All-Region honorees

MIAC co-champion St. Thomas Men's Soccer had three players honored on the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region team:

  • one of 13 first-team picks was junior defender Halvor Houg;
  • a second-team pick was sophomore midfielder Jack Barry.
  • a third-team honoree was junior midfielder Sam Holton.

All three were All-MIAC selections but made All-Region for the first time in their careers.

Houg had a team-best eight goals in 19 games, including a 4-for-4 clip on penalty kicks and four game-winning goals. In three seasons he's played in 52 games with 15 goals (seven game winning) and two assists.

Barry recorded four goals and three assists in 19 games, including two game-winning goals. In 41 career games Barry has 11 goals (five game-winning) and six assists.

Holton played in all 19 games. He's played in 63 of 65 games in his three seasons with one assist.

Out of 409 Division III men's soccer programs, 312 athletes are recognized from eight regions nationally as either first-, second-, or third-team selections.
