Three Tommie standouts -- junior defenders Halvor Houg and Sam Holton, and senior keeper Troy Louwagie -- have been voted onto the United Soccer Coaches Men's Scholar All-Region teams for 2019.

Juniors and seniors who start 50 percent or more of their team's games and excel academically are eligible for nomination. The North Region team has 28 honorees from 21 different teams.

A first-team honoree, Houg is a Leadership and Management major with a 3.63 grade-point average. He previously was named to the All-America team. Houg had a team-best eight goals in 19 games, including a 4-for-4 clip on penalty kicks and four game-winning goals. In three seasons he's played in 52 games with 15 goals (seven game winning) and two assists.

A third-team honoree, Holton is a Marketing Management major with a 3.56 gpa. He played in all 19 games. He's played in 63 of 65 games in his three seasons with one assist.

A third-team honoree, Louwagie has a 3.92 gpa in Mechanical Engineering. He went 9-1-1 in net with 24 saves and seven shutouts. In the last two seasons he went 11-2-1 with nine shutouts.
