Pitching sharp in Softball sweep

No. 4-ranked Tommie Softball climbed to 6-0 on the season as it allowed one run over 14 innings and posted a pair of Sunday wins at the Rochester Dome.

Freshman Megan Baniecke (2-0) threw one-hit shutout and walked one in a 5-0 win over Rockford.

Junior Kierstin Anderson-Glass allowed four hits in a 2-1 defeat of Dubuque.

Anderson-Glass (3-0) retired 12 of the last 14 batters allowing just two walks. The Toms scored single runs in the second and third innings. Chase Shortly doubled and scored on an error. Sam Birling singles, and pinch runner Kristin McGonigal stole second and third bases. She came to score on Baniecke's RBI ground out.

Shortly drove in two runs in the opener and finished the day 3-for-6. Birling and Baniecke had RBI singles in game one, and Elise Barnes drove in a run with an RBI double. Barnes finished the day 3-for-7 with a walk.
