Karl Wachter won the 3,000 meters in 8:34.77 -- it's Division III's 10th fatest time this season -- to highlight St. Thomas track and field's performances Friday at the St. Olaf Invite.

The St. Thomas women held out several athletes and took second out of four teams to Gustavus, with 13 top-two places. All-America Grace Bordson cleared 5-6 to win the high jump and moved into the top 10 in Division III this season.

The Tommie men won 19 events and added eight runner-up finishes. They scored 209 points to outscore Bethel (113), Gustavus (100) and St. Olaf (93).

  • Karl Wachter in the 3000 in 8:34.77;
  • Eric Holst in the weight throw;
  • David Danhauer in the shot put;
  • freshman Eric Douville in the 200 dash;
  • Carl Kozlowski in the 800;
  • Aidan Ritzenthaler in the pole vault;
  • Jake Kelly in the triple jump and high jump;
  • the 4x200 relay;
  • Erik Sworski in the 1000.


Men's runners-up were:

  • Gage O'Brien in the shot put;
  • freshman Erik Anderson in the 60 hurdles;
  • freshman Eric Douville in the 60 dash (7.03 prelims);
  • freshman Landon Javens in the 600;
  • Josh Prater in the long jump and triple jump;
  • Michael Bury in the pole vault;
  • Josh Willard in the 1000.
