Men's D-III national poll

Tommie Women's Cross Country climbed five spots to No. 15 in the latest Division III rankings released Wednesday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA).

Coach Joe Sweeney's team placed first among Division III teams and sixth out of 32 teams overall in the D-II/III race last Saturday at the Minnesota Gopher Griak race.

The Purple went unbeaten against Division III competition in three September races and topped eight D-III squads last Saturday. The Toms beat one ranked D-II team (No. 17 Northern Michigan) and finished behind four teams ranked in the top 15 in D-II.

St. Thomas' top runners will compete Saturday in Louisville at the Pre-National meet, and a partial squad will compete at the St. Catherine Invite.

The St. Thomas men are ranked 33rd. They were off competition last weekend and will compete Saturday in a strong field at the Wartburg Invite in Waverly, Iowa.
